Castell, rock and reservoir
El Castell de Guadalest occupies a narrow limestone ridge where a tunnel leads into the historic enclosure and the ruins of Sant Josep hold the highest ground.
Below, the twentieth-century reservoir has changed the valley view, adding water supply, irrigation and flood control to a landscape long read through its fortifications.
